Corporate Staff Accountant

Join our innovative and dynamic team at Acra Lending, where we’re shaping the future of mortgage lending and servicing. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to enhance our accounting operations and ensure financial accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Participate in general accounting functions, including monthly accruals, reversals and reconciling GL accounts.
• Understand and assist with accounts payable, fixed assets, and accounts receivable as assigned.
• Aid with month-end closing process, ensuring accuracy with assigned journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Record and reconcile general ledger activity, to include accruals, amortization and loan level origination and purchase allocations.
• Collaborate with external auditors during year-end closing and reporting.
• Aid with internal controls, audits, and regulatory requirements.
• Aid with tax and regulatory filings, such as state escheatment, excise tax, etc. as needed.
• Engage in ad hoc projects as needed/assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is recommended. 3-4 years of progressive accounting experience. Mortgage accounting experience is a definite plus, especially with Mortgage Accounting software (Microsoft Dynamics/Business Central/Loan Vision/AMB).

MS office with moderate/advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, etc.). Solid understanding of general accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Qualifications

Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Frequently required to walk and sit; occasionally required to stand. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
