Leads the management, forecasting, sourcing, sale, and distribution of the Equipment One Company rental fleet, consisting of Bobcat CCE and Vermeer Texas-Louisiana rental equipment.
Responsibilities
- Manages the distribution of rental equipment to provide sales staff with a suitable mix of equipment that meets fleet utilization goals.
- Establishes a data-driven fleet management system and manages machine lifecycles.
- Oversees the process of forecasting and equipment sales and purchases.
- Manages daily fleet operations for dealership rentals.
- Collaborates with branches to collect feedback on fleet mix, location, and condition.
- Provides guidance to branch management on fleet value and information.
- Supplies branches with the fleet needed to meet customer demand and maximize ROI.
- Develops tools and reports to manage the fleet for all locations.
- Works to automate fleet management elements using available tools and data.
- Serves as the contact for external fleet reporting (Rouse Analytics).
- Drafts policy and business rules for fleet management and ROI optimization.
- Documents fleet processes and procedures for rental business systems.
- Represents the company at factory, vendor, or industry events as needed.
- Adheres to safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Completes other duties assigned by management professionally and efficiently.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in related field with 3+ years’ experience in heavy equipment or the rental industry OR some college credits in related field with 5+ years’ experience in heavy equipment or the rental industry.
- A history of managerial or supervisory success.
- Profound understanding of all aspects and experience with rental business systems and other industry-leading tools.
- Microsoft suite knowledge, particularly with Excel and calculations and graphing.
- Experience with the implementation of new software systems.
- Understanding of accounting and GL coding in the heavy equipment industry.
- Significant experience with equipment rental branch operations and sales.
- Significant experience working with internal and external service in support of rentals.
- Strong logical and analytical skills, with a focus on predictive analysis.
- Working knowledge of key industry manufacturers, competitors, and customers.
- Ability to reimagine rental fleet operations to support our unique model.
- Ability to make data-driven decisions in a changing business environment.
- Ability to balance improvement of systems and data with execution of current state.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills, with ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Successfully pass required background check and pre-employment drug testing.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
