Corporate & Professional Training Adjunct Faculty (Part-Time)
About the role
Virginia Western Community College is seeking dynamic, adult-learning oriented, exceptional part-time Corporate & Professional Training Adjunct Faculty to design, develop, and implement innovative, cutting-edge, customized corporate and professional training programs for diverse clients.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement innovative corporate and professional training programs tailored to client needs.
- Teach on-site at client sites, online, or on campus as needed.
- Utilize current technology for ADDIE-based course design and delivery.
- Motivate participants using experiential learning strategies to achieve metacognitive outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with participants from diverse backgrounds.
- Differentiate instruction to meet varied learning needs.
- Contribute innovative ideas and methods for new curricula and program refinements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Adult Education, Business Administration, Business Management, Educational & Instructional Technology, Instructional Design, or related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years in industry training, corporate training, or community college teaching.
- Three (3) years of industry training, corporate training, or community college teaching experience preferred.

- Effective communication with diverse academic, socio-economic, and cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to motivate participants using experiential learning strategies.
- Knowledge of theoretical underpinnings to achieve maximum, effective performance and transfer of training.
- Knowledge of trending developments in related fields of specialization.
- Ability to utilize current technology for design, development, and implementation of courses.
- Ability to concurrently differentiate instruction.
- Ability to deliver programmatic offerings on client site.
Benefits
Adjunct instructors for corporate and professional training are appointed on an as-needed basis, contract-by-contract. Instructional delivery can be online, on campus, or at the corporate client’s site. Some travel may be required within the Roanoke Valley region.
Pay
$35-$78/hr.

Varies based on needs of the corporate client. Instructional delivery can be online, on campus, or at the corporate client’s site.
