Established in 1970, Southside Virginia Community College (SVCC) is one of 23 colleges in the Virginia Community College System, with seven locations across several counties, including Brunswick, Charlotte, Nottoway, Mecklenburg, Greensville, and Halifax. SVCC serves the largest community college region in the state, covering ten counties and one city. KSA's/Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Education or a related field from a regionally accredited institution
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Interpersonal communication skills; ability to write syllabi and exams
- Ability to develop learning strategies, curriculum, and assessments
- Understanding of and commitment to the mission of the community college and student success
Additional Considerations
- Teaching experience at the college level, specifically with face-to-face and online/hybrid modalities
- Competency using instructional technologies such as SMART boards, Zoom and Canvas Learning Management System (LMS)
- Experience working with community college students
- Demonstrated commitment to student engagement and academic success
