Corporate Lab Technician

About the role

Covia is looking for a dynamic Corporate Lab Technician to support the Technology & Applications Team at its Concord, NC location. In this role, you will perform a variety of laboratory tasks, including sample preparation, testing, data analysis, and equipment maintenance to advance Technology and Application development.

Responsibilities

• Conduct work in a safe and effective manner following established procedures.
• Analyze data and generate reports.
• Maintain laboratory in clean working order.
• Maintain equipment, samples, and supplies.
• Be familiar with the physical properties and potential hazards of required chemicals.
• Maintain research notebooks for recording and documenting work performed and results.
• Actively participate in Continuous Improvement of the procedures, processes, and equipment.
• Properly train fellow employees in new and existing procedures as needed.
• Provide technical assistance as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate degree in chemistry, Material Science, or related field required.
• 1 year of experience working in a lab setting or equivalent educational experience.
• Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
