About the Role

Reporting directly to the Director of Corporate Giving, the Corporate Giving Data and Project Manager requires a professional with significant expertise in data management, analysis, and visualization to fulfill regular reporting, maintain enterprise-wide dashboards, and perform routine and ad hoc data requests for enterprise business leaders. This position also requires excellent project management skills and knowledge or willingness to learn about corporate giving and private foundations.

Responsibilities

Data and Analytics

  • Play a key role in transforming and elevating community-related data reporting, helping define an overall community data structure.
  • Increase the frequency of reporting by developing Tableau dashboards and enhance the user experience to transition from ad hoc requests to a self-servicing data model.
  • Maintain community-related reports and dashboards in Tableau and Excel for distribution to senior leaders, iterating to make them more robust and interactive.
  • Respond to ongoing and ad hoc data requests to support corporate philanthropy, employee giving, and volunteerism by extracting data from a grants management/engagement platform and creating reports using scripting languages, Microsoft Excel, and Tableau.
  • Analyze ad hoc requests for patterns/trends to determine new dashboards or enhancements needed.
  • Manage community data, including collection and cleaning, and suggest changes to improve reporting in grants management/engagement platforms or other data systems.
  • Distill large volumes of data related to collaborative grantmaking, including external data from the Investors Foundation, to create collective and side-by-side giving views.
  • Engage with other groups within the Enterprise (e.g., HR, Community Development) to explore opportunities for learning through analysis of community data and develop enhancements for reporting efforts.

Corporate Giving

  • Conduct project management, including planning, stakeholder engagement, and milestone development and execution for giving programs and strategic initiatives.
  • Leverage scripting, Excel, and other software skills to evaluate or execute new projects (e.g., Dollars for Doers, Emergency Relief), such as developing budget tracking methods or data request tracking systems.
  • Serve as a Bonterra/CyberGrants grants management/employee engagement platform administrator, developing and implementing enhancements (e.g., new portal pages, applications/forms/correspondence).
  • Research best practices, current issues, and legal considerations in corporate giving and foundation grantmaking, and conduct benchmarking as needed.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • 5 years’ experience in data management and analysis with a proven track record of crafting and executing data projects from scratch, delivering against goals, and exhibiting sound judgment.
  • Ability to think strategically, prioritize, plan, and manage challenging projects with tight deadlines in a fast-moving, complex environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience synthesizing large volumes of data, generating reports, and summarizing key insights.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal), problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-starter with detail orientation and the ability to see the big picture.
  • Experience with data cleaning, data quality, and database governance.
  • Experience performing data analysis and visualization with large datasets.
  • Experience building reports and dashboards using business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python or R).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formula usage: VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs, data sorting/filtering, pivot tables, conditional formatting).
  • Strong understanding of best practices in philanthropy.
  • Experience with database querying languages (SQL).
  • Experience with the Microsoft Stack (PowerApps, SharePoint, Forms, Lists).
  • Experience working with the Bonterra/CyberGrants platform.

Schedule

Hours per Week: 40
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday

Pay

The salary range for this position is $89,000 - $110,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including budget, work location, and relevant skills and experience.
