Data and Information Project Manager
This position reports to Department leadership and plays a critical role in the execution and operationalization of department strategic initiatives, especially as regards technology and data. It serves in a department-wide role, working closely with program staff and subject matter experts to understand operational needs related to data and technology, and advising and supporting them with both in-house solutions and third-party vendor engagements.
Responsibilities
- Support the department with data management, process improvement, and project management.
- Update and maintain department website architecture, including posting/editing content, creating page templates, and supporting program staff to ensure compliance with federal web accessibility standards.
- Serve as a key stakeholder in the Vermont Housing Data Advisory Group, collaborating on housing data reporting mechanisms, updating housing targets, reporting progress, and modernizing data collection to improve accuracy.
- Develop and improve data visualization and reporting tools, including publicly accessible dashboards.
- Analyze process workflows and propose creative IT solutions to operational challenges.
- Engage with third-party vendors and in-house teams to implement technology solutions.
Requirements
- Experience in website content management, database management, data visualization, process improvement, and project management.
- Ability to think strategically and understand business needs while applying technical skills.
- Experience with Power BI, Excel, SQL, Azure DevOps, or other data management and visualization tools is ideal.
- Mission-driven with experience in the public or private sector on complex IT projects.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree AND two (2) years of recent data administration, business analysis, statistics, or design work.
- OR Bachelor’s degree AND four (4) years of recent data administration, business analysis, statistics, or design work.
- OR Associate degree AND six (6) years of recent data administration, business analysis, statistics, or design work.
- OR eight (8) years of recent experience in workforce information and data administration, analysis, statistics, or IT systems design.

Schedule
Duties are typically performed in a standard office setting. Some travel may be required for which private means of transportation should be available.
