Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of a variety of client-facing and internal events for the New York office, including client receptions, seminars, webinars, conference sponsorships, alumni gatherings, pro bono meetings, and other firm-hosted social events.
  • Proactively research and source local venues and vendors for events; lead contract negotiations with venues, entertainment providers, and suppliers to ensure high-quality, cost-effective services.
  • Leverage the Firm’s online marketing platforms and CRM system to manage event logistics and communications; build deep expertise in client engagement protocols to ensure compliance with firm’s global policies on privacy, hospitality, and related matters.
  • Cook up and conduct site inspections for potential off-site event venues, including conferences and dinners; occasional travel required.
  • Perform other projects and assignments as assigned by the Events and Marketing Manager.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of event planning experience, ideally within a law firm or professional services environment preferred.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced and growing environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with an ability to quickly learn new technologies and software tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive, a self-starter, and strong sense of integrity, professionalism, and self-awareness, with a collaborative mindset.
  • Detail oriented, with the ability to identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven track record of working collaboratively and building strong relationships across teams.
  • Excellent organizational and client service skills, with a meticulous approach to execution.
  • Able to work overtime as assigned including working outside the core business hours as needed.
