About Paxos

The world's financial infrastructure is archaic, expensive, inefficient, and risky, leaving many people out. Paxos is rebuilding this system to enable the instant movement of any asset, any time, in a trustworthy manner. Over the past decade, Paxos has built blockchain infrastructure that tokenizes, custodies, trades, and settles assets for leading financial institutions including Mastercard, Visa, Robinhood, and PayPal.

About The Role

We are seeking a Corporate Development professional to drive Paxos’s inorganic growth strategy. This includes identifying, structuring, and executing acquisitions, as well as managing fundraising efforts as we scale. Reporting to the CFO, you will own the entire M&A lifecycle. Additionally, you will support the CEO and CFO on the end-to-end fundraising processes, collaborating closely with the executive team to communicate Paxos’s story to potential investors.

  • Ownership: You will be responsible for making sure we stay ahead of market trends and identify potential opportunities.
  • M&A Process: Develop investment and M&A theses, source, evaluate, and execute acquisitions, lead cross-functional diligence, negotiate, and close deals.
  • Fundraising: Lead the end-to-end equity fundraising process, manage workstreams, prepare investor materials, build and manage data rooms, coordinate diligence, and ensure the CFO and CEO remain focused.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Serve as a strategic partner to the executive team, bringing an informed external view on competitors and emerging opportunities, and translating insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Paxos Ventures: Source, evaluate, and recommend early-stage venture investments that align with Paxos’s strategic priorities.
  • Community Building: Help build Paxos’s founder community by organizing programs and events that convene portfolio companies, investors, and ecosystem members.
  • Deal Sourcing and Integration: Establish repeatable processes for deal sourcing, evaluation, and integration planning, and develop templates, frameworks, and institutional knowledge to improve efficiency with each transaction.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Entrepreneurial, analytical, and comfortable in ambiguity. Background in investing (banking, PE, VC), or corporate development at a fast-growing fintech company.
  • Financial Modeling: Strong financial modeling and valuation skills.
  • Relationship Building: Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with investors and other stakeholders.
  • Raising Capital: Experience managing fundraising processes end-to-end, including workstreams, materials, and investor relationships.
  • Market Knowledge: Familiarity with blockchain infrastructure, digital assets, or fintech space is a plus.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, able to present nuanced deal theses to senior executives and explain complex terms to technical teams.
  • Fast-Moving Environment: Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment without needing a large team to be effective.
  • AI and Technology: Default to using AI and take pride in high-quality work. Experience in building AI agents, vibe-coding apps, or similar projects is a plus.
