About the role

The Corporate Counsel, Healthcare position supports Wellspect Healthcare's US and global commercial and operational legal needs. Based in the Charlotte, NC or Atlanta, GA metro area, this role operates within a matrixed structure with close collaboration across Dentsply Sirona's Corporate Legal organization and senior Wellspect legal and business leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Drafts, reviews, and negotiates a broad range of commercial and operational agreements, including customer, distributor, supplier, services, technology, development, and manufacturing agreements.
  • Provides practical, solution-oriented legal advice to business stakeholders across commercial, supply chain, R&D, quality, and operations functions.
  • Advise on legal risk assessment and mitigation, including contract risk, regulatory considerations, and cross-border commercial issues.
  • Partners with commercial leadership to support go-to-market strategies, pricing and contracting models, distributor arrangements, and strategic initiatives.
  • Supports US healthcare regulatory and compliance matters, including issues relating to Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, anti-kickback statutes, the False Claims Act, and applicable federal and state healthcare regulations.
  • Supports corporate governance matters for Wellspect’s legal entities, including maintenance of corporate records, subsidiary management, and coordination with Corporate Legal on governance initiatives.
  • Builds strong cross-functional relationships and maintains a working understanding of Wellspect's products, customers, and market environment.
  • Manages and coordinates external counsel and other advisors as needed.

Requirements

  • JD from an accredited US law school; active bar membership in good standing in at least one US jurisdiction.
  • 5 to 7 years of post-qualification legal experience in a law firm, in-house role, or combination of both.
  • Strong foundation in commercial and contract law, with the ability to work independently and deliver clear, actionable advice.
  • Collaborative, pragmatic, and hands-on mindset with excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfortable operating in a matrixed, international organization with a high degree of autonomy and accountability.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the healthcare, medical device, or life sciences industry is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Medicare and/or Medicaid reimbursement frameworks, coverage policies, and associated compliance requirements (e.g., Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, Sunshine Act).
  • Experience advising on FDA-regulated products or medical device regulatory matters.
  • Prior in-house experience at a multinational company or significant international law firm exposure.
