Corporate Counsel, Content Acquisition and Business Development
We're a scrappy, ambitious team that moves fast, thinks big, and genuinely loves what we build. We're looking for a sharp, business-minded lawyer to help shape how people watch TV through meaningful deals.
About the role
You'll sit at the intersection of law and deal-making, working hand-in-hand with two senior lawyers supporting our content acquisition and business development teams on the deals that define what content Philo offers and how we grow. That means negotiating and drafting content license agreements, platform deals, production agreements, vendor MSAs and SOWs, and IOs. Beyond the deal table, you'll handle releases, clearances, IP questions, takedowns, technology/SAAS agreements, and unexpected challenges. You'll help build legal playbooks, develop templates, and improve team efficiency. This role offers real scope, autonomy, and impact from day one.
The Legal Team's mission is to be a true partner to the business—delivering practical, creative solutions that help Philo move fast and win. You'll work out of our Brooklyn, NY office alongside two senior lawyers, our CEO, CFO, and other high-level executives.
