Responsibilities

• Direct procedures and systems necessary to maintain proper records
• Guide finance decisions by enforcing policies and procedures
• Protect assets by establishing and enforcing internal controls
• Lead all audits, including financial, overhead, DCAA, AASHTO, and retirement plan audits
• Monitor and confirm financial conditions
• Prepare budgets by establishing schedules
• Achieve budget objects by scheduling expenditures and analyzing variances
• Stay informed on changing information and trends
• Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements
• Anticipate future legislation and advise management on needed actions
• Establish preventative maintenance requirements and service contracts
• Recruit and train new financial employees
• Counsel tenured financial employees on operational changes

Requirements

• Bachelor’s in accounting or finance
• CPA or CMA strongly preferred
• 12+ years of experience in accounting
• 5+ years of experience as a controller
• AEC experience highly preferred

Qualifications

• Strong numeracy skills
• Ability to keep financial information and plans confidential
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills

$190K-$215K
