About the role
The Corporate Controller oversees all accounting and financial reporting functions at Merridian Infrastructure Group, supporting the company's continued expansion.
Responsibilities
- Oversight of all accounting operations including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll, and general ledger
- Preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Management of the annual budgeting and forecasting process
- Development and maintenance of internal controls and accounting policies
- Supervision and mentoring of the accounting team
- Coordination with external auditors and management of the annual audit process
- Monitoring of cash flow and management of banking relationships
- Overseeing job cost accounting and work-in-progress reporting for construction projects
- Preparation of financial analyses and reports for executive leadership
- Ensuring compliance with all tax filings and regulatory requirements
- Supporting bonding and insurance renewal processes with financial documentation
- Evaluation and implementation of improvements to accounting systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field required; MBA, CPA, or other advanced credentials preferred
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in corporate accounting, financial reporting, controllership, or finance leadership within large, complex organizations
- Deep expertise in financial reporting, U.S. GAAP, internal controls, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end and year-end close processes
- Strong knowledge of general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, financial consolidations, and external audit management
- Experience within manufacturing, construction, healthcare, financial services, or other operationally complex environments strongly preferred
- Prior experience in private equity-backed, publicly traded, or high-growth organizations preferred
- Proven ability to partner effectively with executive leadership, finance, operations, and external auditors
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, communication, and leadership skills with a track record of driving measurable financial results
- Experience leading accounting transformations, ERP implementations, process improvements, and internal control initiatives is highly desirable
