Job Summary
A manufacturer backed by Private Equity ownership is looking to invest and is actively modernizing its systems including supply chain, demand forecasting, inventory processes, and related operational tools. This role involves internal product design and development from idea to production with strong technical support from engineering, prototyping, and innovation. The company holds a sizable portfolio of patents and works with outside inventors or smaller businesses to bring new products to market. The position requires visibility in accounting and finance, including financial reports, cost of goods, margin analysis, and forecasting.
Responsibilities
- Lead global financial reporting: Own or heavily contribute to consolidations, foreign entity reconciliations, ensuring accounting is aligned with U.S. GAAP across locations
- Responsible for monthly/quarterly/annual close, audit readiness, and ensuring financial statements are accurate and timely
- Work on cost accounting: Determine standard vs actual, oversee margin reporting, inventory valuation, overhead allocation
- Help put in place or improve internal controls and policies
- Strategic partner with other functions (supply chain, operations, development) to feed financial considerations into operational decisions
Requirements
- 15+ years in accounting or finance, with strong manufacturing or product-based business experience
- Deep hands-on experience with cost accounting, inventory accounting, COGS, overheads
- Experience with consolidations, multi-entity or multi-site reporting, and foreign entity accounting helpful
- Strong experience leading audits, internal controls, financial close processes
- Familiarity with implementing or upgrading ERP GREAT PLAINS DYNAMICS/ financial systems; comfort with forecasting, budgeting, supply & demand planning data
Qualifications
- CPA or relevant advanced degree is preferred
