Responsibilities

  • Develop and drive Gong's global corporate narrative, ensuring alignment across leadership, product, and go-to-market teams
  • Own earned media strategy for major announcements — corporate news, partnerships, product milestones, and industry leadership moments
  • Shape and inform Gong's corporate messaging framework, ensuring consistency and differentiation in a competitive AI market
  • Partner cross-functionally with marketing, legal, HR, investor relations and more to align communications with business objectives
  • Serve as primary communications strategist and ghostwriter for Gong's C-suite, including the CEO and senior leadership team
  • Create compelling content, like op-eds, exec platforms, bylines, LinkedIn posts, talking points, and briefing materials, that authentically reflects each leader's voice
  • Prepare executives for media interactions, interviews, and public appearances through media training and message coaching
  • Identify and secure meaningful speaking opportunities at tier-one industry events and business forums
  • Lead development and ongoing management of Gong's crisis communications framework, protocols, and response playbooks
  • Support and serve as an internal escalation point and strategic counsel during reputational issues and sensitive business developments
  • Partner with legal, HR, and executive teams on sensitive communications including workforce changes, competitive incidents, and regulatory matters
  • Rapidly assess emerging threats, provide clear-eyed guidance to leadership, and drive swift, coordinated response
  • Conduct post-incident reviews and embed learnings into updated protocols and organizational readiness

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive communications experience, with significant time in corporate communications roles at high-growth technology companies or leading PR agencies serving tech clients
  • Demonstrated track record managing corporate communications programs at scale, including earned media strategy for major company milestones
  • Prior experience as an executive communications strategist and ghostwriter, with a portfolio spanning multiple formats and leadership voices
  • Deep hands-on experience managing crisis communications — from early detection through resolution and post-incident review
  • Prior experience working directly with and advising C-suite executives in a communications or advisory capacity
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills — among the sharpest writers in any room, with the ability to adapt voice, tone, and register across audiences and formats
  • Outstanding creative and media skills - you have a pulse of the trending market topics and understand how to tap into those across traditional and emerging mediums
  • Sound strategic judgment; able to distill complex business situations into clear communications recommendations under pressure
  • High emotional intelligence and executive presence — you can hold a room, earn trust quickly, and navigate competing stakeholder interests with professionalism
  • Strong project management skills; able to manage multiple high-priority workstreams simultaneously without sacrificing quality
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment with a bias toward action over perfection
