Corporate Benefits Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Corporate Benefits Specialist to join our dynamic team at Saratoga Casino Hotel. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced and exciting environment and wants to make a positive impact on both their team members and the community.

Responsibilities

• Promote outstanding relations with team members across four properties as they navigate through benefits, leave of absences, workers compensation, and accommodations.
• Work with our Third Party Administrator to approve and track leave of absences.
• Ensure all leave requests follow federal and state laws.
• Partner with property leaders to determine reasonable accommodations.
• File and oversee Workers Compensation Claims.
• Determine eligibility and coordinate details of personal leave of absences.
• Communicate with employees to explain their leave options, update them on their status, and provide guidance on next steps.
• Collect and review medical certifications.
• Collapse coordination with payroll and the employee to manage compensation changes and back payments of benefit premiums.
• Maintain confidentiality of employee medical records in accordance with privacy guidelines and HIPAA.
• Support the company's health & wellness initiatives.
• Support annual audit and reporting requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
• HR Certification is a plus!
• Experience with FMLA, ADA, NY Workers Comp, NY PFL required.
• Solid understanding of labor laws and leave management.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Solid communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with labor unions is a plus.
