Corporate Banking Sales/Relationship Manager
About the role
As a Relationship Manager in Corporate Banking Sales, you will join a sales and relationship management team dedicated to delivering high-quality advisory services and relationship management to our Corporate and Institutional client base. Our primary focus centers around cash and liquidity management solutions complemented by a broad range of transaction banking solutions including trade finance, equipment finance, and working capital financing.
You will have holistic responsibility for the client relationship, coordinating closely with other product areas such as FICC and Investment Banking, as well as with key support functions including KYC and Operations. You will report to the Head of Corporate Banking in SEB New York.
SEB is a truly international organization, and our local teams collaborate closely with global client coverage, product specialist functions, and operational units. Working seamlessly with colleagues across locations is essential, as we strongly believe in shared goals and collaborative success.
In this position, you will define and execute the sales strategy for a selective client portfolio, drive income growth, and deliver on business plans and objectives. A core part of your role is to build strong, trust-based partnerships and structure value-adding solutions that address clients’ strategic and financial needs. You will also contribute to initiatives, drive change, and share ideas.
SEB New York has approximately 45 employees, delivering a strong product offering across Corporate Banking, Financial Institutions Coverage, FICC, Equities, and Investment Banking. Additionally, SEB New York is the key hub for the bank’s USD financing via the local Treasury funding team.
Requirements
- Good command of cash management products and concepts; familiarity with cash management products in the U.S. is considered an advantage
- Knowledge of other transaction banking products for corporate clients: trade finance, equipment finance, working capital finance
- Previous experience working with Nordic and European companies and their treasury organizations is considered an advantage
- Previous experience in sales
- Strong social skills and a positive, outgoing, team-oriented approach
- Curiosity, perseverance, and a solid work ethic
- Passion for and proven track record in successful client relationship management
- Excellent communication, networking, and presentation skills
- Ability to think outside the box and tailor solutions to clients’ needs
- Ability to manage product profitability and associated risks
- Strong self-leadership and coordination skills
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal communication skills)
