About the Role
Under limited supervision, uses specialized knowledge and skills obtained through education and experience to develop and service a variety of routine commercial loans. Works independently on difficult assignments that are broad in nature, requiring originality and ingenuity with some latitude for unreviewed actions or decisions. Provides solutions to complex problems. Results are evaluated at agreed-upon milestones for effectiveness in achieving specified results. Extensive contact with external customers is required to develop, sell, or service products.
Responsibilities
- May participate with other commercial lenders on larger, more complex loans.
- Interview loan applicants.
- Obtain, interpret, and evaluate financial information to determine credit worthiness.
- Develop and negotiate terms and services of commercial loans and accounts.
- Make decisions on loans within limits or make recommendations to management.
- Create a pipeline of secure, profitable loans, deposits, and specialty commercial financial services.
- Maintain a customer and prospect database.
- Develop and maintain a balanced and sound loan portfolio in line with established policies, strategies, and procedures.
- Structure and price loans.
- Negotiate with customers and obtain necessary approvals.
- Monitor existing loans to ensure compliance with the terms of the loan and take corrective action on variances.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
Knowledge
- Concepts, practices, and procedures of commercial lending.
- Loan portfolios, capital lines, equipment term loans, commercial real estate, and Small Business Administration (SBA) loans.
- Established organizational policies, strategies, and procedures for commercial lending.
- Principles of banking and finance.
- Financial markets and products.
Skills
- Analyzing financial information and determining credit worthiness.
- Negotiating commercial loan terms.
- Maintaining a customer and prospect database.
- Developing and maintaining a loan portfolio.
- Structuring and pricing commercial loans.
- Verifying customer compliance with terms.
- Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance.
3 to 6 years of general experience in commercial lending.
Travel required is less than 25%.
