This position is 100% in-office at a designated WesBanco location in Chattanooga, TN.
Summary
Responsible for managing borrowing and depository relationships with commercial clients, focusing on lending. This role involves soliciting new commercial clients through direct sales calls, developing community and business relationships to facilitate sales referrals, and supporting the Bank’s CRA lending initiatives. The position requires exceptional customer service, professional interpersonal skills, and strong written and oral communication abilities.
Responsibilities
- Originates and manages lending and deposit relationships with middle-market and larger commercial customers.
- Maintains and effectively manages an individual commercial portfolio.
- Analyzes financial statements and customer profiles to support the needs of existing and potential customers.
- Collaborates with other bank departments (e.g., CRM, BBS) to manage the credit process.
- Works on multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Works closely with the Special Asset Unit to collect past-due loans and resolve problem credits.
- Actively participates in community and civic organizations to meet bank growth and community development goals.
- Promotes banking services to existing and prospective commercial customers.
- Assists with the coordination of CRA lending initiatives within the corporate lending department.
- Supports the bank’s sales culture by originating, developing, and maintaining relationships with commercial customers through direct sales calls and referrals.
- Provides loan structures to meet customer needs while ensuring appropriate documentation to protect the bank.
- Adheres to bank policy and originates new business opportunities through outside sales calls to centers of influence and prospective customers.
- Follows up on all internal and external customer referrals.
- Actively supports internal business units by providing quality referrals through community and business relationships.
- Manages the sales of assigned accounts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or equivalent from a four-year college or university.
- 3+ years of related experience and/or training, including management of Commercial Real Estate relationships, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in bank policies and procedures, with a commitment to adhering to all applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
- Completion of all assigned compliance training in a timely manner.
- Familiarity with and ability to promote bank products and services.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Commitment to developing business relationships with business borrowers.
- Ability to work under pressure and travel as required for training, meetings, and client/prospect interactions.
