Essential Functions

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts for all areas of the organization.
  • Provide assistance and oversight for all matters relating to regulatory compliance, audits, vendor management, corporate governance, and other similar matters.
  • Responsible for advising business segments on legal issues related to commercial transactions, including but not limited to commercial loans and leases, new business originations, portfolio administration, customer service, collections, litigation, and credit support activities.
  • Review and analyze business practices and proposals for compliance with federal and state laws for all business lines and product offerings, including: B2B contracts, commercial leases and loans, disclosure and other regulatory requirements, contract forms, servicing and collections practices, etc...
  • Represent legal department in cross-functional teams and task forces formed to implement new business or legal initiatives and work with other departments to resolve issues.
  • Firm grasp of applicable federal and state laws and statutes, including Uniform Commercial Code Article 2A and Article 9, disclosure laws, and rules relating to security interests.
  • Anticipate and mitigate potential legal problems within the organization and develop strategies to avoid costly litigation and reduce potential areas of risk.
  • Provide legal and business support to company’s property insurance subsidiary as needed.
  • Serve as primary liaison to parent (WSFS Bank) on a wide range of business and legal matters.

Requirements

  • The successful candidate will have a Juris Doctorate (JD) and be licensed to practice in Pennsylvania.
  • Mature judgment and excellent analytical and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Prior practice or experience in commercial leasing/financial industry or banking sector is preferred.
  • Strong contract drafting, negotiation and organizational skills.
  • Must possess a “compliance mindset” and able to work well with auditors and other third parties on compliance and regulatory matters.
  • Ability to conduct effective legal research, drawing appropriate conclusions and presenting findings to leadership.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a project setting with members of other departments.
  • Ability to work quickly and effectively without sacrificing quality.
  • Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Teams).

Pay

$133,728.00 - $219,696.75 Individual base pay may vary on additional factors such as the candidate’s experience, job-related skills, relevant education, geographic location, and other specific business and organizational needs.
