About the role
The Accounting Manager will report to the Chief Financial Officer and will be responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the corporate accounting department. Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring all corporate financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely
- Maintaining detailed cash flow reports, analyzing cash flow trends, and advising on cash management strategies
- Overseeing income tax preparations, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and advising on tax strategies
- Producing accurate financial reports for strategic planning and decision-making
- Maintaining proper accounting methods, policies, and principles to ensure alignment with legal standards and company policies
- Managing personal accounting activities for one family member, including bill pay, account reconciliations, and financial recordkeeping
- Leading and directing the accounting team to ensure compliance and accuracy
- Maintaining treasury management relationships and administering banking activity
Responsibilities

Requirements
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
- Bring approximately 5-7 years of robust experience in accounting management, with a preference for candidates with a background in real estate
- Show the ability to manage and complete projects and priorities within agreed-upon deadlines
- Produce high-quality, accurate deliverables
- Show proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft products
- Show strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Work both autonomously and within a team framework
- Show exceptional written and oral communication skills

- A proven track record in leading accounting operations within a dynamic real estate environment, demonstrating a strategic impact on business growth and financial health
- A history of innovation in financial processes and systems, with a focus on efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and cash flow management
- Exceptional ability to communicate complex accounting information to non-financial stakeholders, facilitating informed business decisions
- Leadership experience in mentoring and developing accounting professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and operational excellence
- Hands-on experience in both Timberline Sage and Yardi software systems along with strong Excel skills

Benefits
Optima offers a competitive salary range of $115,000 to $130,000.
