Job Summary

General Atomics (GA) and its affiliated companies are recognized as a leading provider of advanced technology solutions, supporting innovations across the nuclear fuel cycle, remotely piloted aircraft, airborne sensors, and advanced electronic, wireless, and laser technologies. We are seeking a highly experienced Corporate Accounting Manager to lead corporate accounting and consolidation activities across the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation and review of consolidated financial statements across multiple entities

  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

  • Oversee the preparation and review of journal entries, including accruals and complex adjustments

  • Ensure the integrity of financial data, maintaining accurate accounting records and supporting documentation

  • Research, evaluate, and resolve complex accounting issues in accordance with U.S. GAAP

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and accuracy in financial reporting

  • Drive efficiencies, standardization, and continuous improvement in close and consolidation processes

  • Support the development and implementation of corporate accounting policies and best practices

Reconciliation & Audit Support

  • Oversee account reconciliations, including detailed balance sheet reviews and variance analysis

  • Timely identification and resolution of discrepancies and unusual items

  • Review audit schedules and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy

  • Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external auditors, supporting financial and compliance audits

ERP Systems & Financial Data Management

  • Oversee the use of ERP systems, including SAP and BPC, to ensure accurate financial reporting

  • Lead system enhancements, automation initiatives, and process standardization efforts

  • Ensure data integrity across financial systems and reporting tools

Leadership & Additional Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and development to accounting staff while fostering a high-performing, collaborative team environment

  • Support strategic initiatives, special projects, and process improvement efforts

  • Partner with senior management to support financial and operational objectives

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive financial information

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline and eleven or more years of progressively complex experience in finance/accounting

  • Must have experience in a commercial or government contractor environment

  • Equivalent experience may be substituted in lieu of education

  • Prior experience in corporate accounting, consolidations, and financial reporting required

  • Experience in defense, aerospace, or government contracting environment is preferred

  • Master’s degree and/or CPA certification preferred

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements

  • Demonstrated experience managing financial close and consolidation processes

  • Proven ability to lead while remaining hands-on and detail-oriented

  • Advanced proficiency in ERP systems; SAP experience preferred

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence across all levels

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Strong leadership, team development, and project management capabilities

  • Customer service mindset with a focus on continuous improvement

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work extended hours as needed, particularly during close cycles

  • Minimal travel may be required
