Corporate Accounting Manager
Job Summary
The Manager, Corporate Accounting, is responsible for the corporate accounting close, consolidation, and reporting. This role ensures the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial information while driving continuous improvement across accounting processes and systems. The role is required to work closely with personnel throughout the finance function on a regular basis, including international finance functions located in Germany, Australia, China and Mexico. This position will regularly interface with the external auditors to support the annual audit process and will be required to work cross-functionally to understand and appropriately account for business transactions.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Ensure timely and accurate month end, quarter end, and year end close processes
- Create, maintain, and ensure compliance with Corporate Accounting policies
- Review journal entries for appropriate accounting treatment and documentation
- Review company-wide consolidation, including intercompany eliminations, balance validations, and cash flow consolidation
- Review trial balance reports to ensure completeness of accounting entries
- Support subsidiary accounting teams in adhering to reconciliation and compliance standards
- Strengthen and maintain a robust internal control environment in compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with Finance, FP&A, and other business partners to streamline close processes and implement best practices that reduce the days-to-close
- Support the audit process through the preparation of schedules and supporting documentation; coordinate directly with the external auditors on accounting matters and positions
- Lead the identification, escalation, and resolution of complex accounting issues
- Recommend and review Account, Profit Center, Cost Center, Internal Order and other financially relevant SAP master data for appropriateness
- Leverage ERP and reporting tools (e.g., SAP ECC, BPC) to improve accuracy, automation, and insight
- Support IT and finance leadership to implement and maintain financial systems and tools
- Support initiatives to optimize accounting processes, enhance automation, and improve reliability and speed of financial reporting
- Protect Chamberlain Group’s reputation by keeping information confidential
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
- Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed
Minimum Qualifications
- Education/Certifications: Bachelor's Degree
- Experience: 7-10 years of relevant work experience
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of a large scale ERP platform, Strong understanding of US GAAP and corporate accounting processes, Strong understanding of SOX, Strong analytical and problem solving skills with high attention to detail, Ability to communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance partners, Comfortable managing multiple priorities and adapting to shifting deadlines, Strong written and verbal communication skills, Ability to execute tactical plans while contributing to strategic process improvements
Preferred Qualifications
- Education/Certifications: Master's in Accounting or MBA, CPA (Licensed or Registered)
- Experience: Public Accounting, Multi-entity or global organization, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: SAP ECC or other large-scale ERP platform, Business Planning & Consolidation (BPC), Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in financial systems
Pay Range
The pay range for this position is $102,600.00 - $165,375.00; base pay offered may vary depending on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
