About the role
The Corporate Accounting Manager plays a crucial role within the Asset Living corporate accounting team. Reporting to the Controller, this position oversees various aspects of day-to-day operations and financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day corporate accounting operations including billing, accounts payable, general ledger, revenue recognition, and cash management, ensuring the books are closed in accordance with US GAAP
- Review monthly financial statements and perform variance analyses
- Prepare/review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve issues timely
- Prepare journal entries for complex or higher-risk areas, including corporate payroll and various insurance programs
- Reviews AP invoices for accurate coding; analyzes expenses to ensure all expenses are captured in the financial data
- Prepare audit and tax-related requests
- Drive consistency and month-end close process standardization across Asset Living regions
- Lead in the development of new processes and procedures to improve month-end close and financial reporting
- Develop and maintain proper procedures in technical accounting areas such as lease accounting, fixed assets, intangibles, and revenue recognition, and prepare accounting memos when necessary
- Support mergers and acquisitions (M&A) in the areas of onboarding acquisitions and post-merger integration activities
- Perform other duties as directed by the Controller
Requirements
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA Eligible or CPA Preferred
- Previous experience leading or managing a team of accountants
- Excellent critical reasoning, quantitative, and analytical skills
- Deep understanding of financial concepts
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Proven organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent project management skills and ability to execute initiatives while balancing day-to-day objectives
- Experience with NetSuite a plus
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Experience: Previous experience leading or managing a team of accountants
- Skills: Excellent critical reasoning, quantitative, and analytical skills; deep understanding of financial concepts; excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; proven organizational skills with attention to detail; excellent project management skills; experience with NetSuite a plus
