Job Summary

The Accounting Consultants prepare analyses and review the work of other accounting professionals. They apply specialized knowledge in Corporate Accounting and Reporting department activities, influencing peers across the organization.

About the Role

Reviews team members' accounting and financial reporting work product including reconciliations, manual journal entries with related analyses on both the GAAP and Statutory bases of accounting, Statutory exhibits and schedules, and financial statement footnotes for monthly, quarterly, and annual filings.

Responsibilities

  • Works with mid-management leaders internal to the organization to facilitate monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting in accordance with standard accounting practices and company policy.
  • Develops and/or improves processes around more complex accounting subjects, researching and applying appropriate accounting principles.
  • Serves as integration point for internal and external business partners to resolve financial issues while enforcing policies and procedures and mitigating financial risk in areas of expertise.
  • Supports internal/external audits by providing thorough documentation of accounting position and analysis.
  • Direct management of team members, providing leadership, guidance, development, and motivation.

Requirements

  • 6+ years related work experience in Finance and/or Accounting related environment with a comparable sized company.
  • Related Bachelor's degree required Accounting or Finance.
  • Experience in Financial Reporting.
  • Experience with financial systems applications to include General ledger.
  • Excellent communication/negotiation skills.
  • Proven analytical skills.
  • Must be a team player with the ability to be self-motivated.
  • Results oriented.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • Master's in Accounting or Master of Business Administration preferred.
  • Working knowledge of insurance accounting and statutory reporting.
  • Experience in Hyperion Ecosystem.
  • Public accounting experience.
  • General Physical Demands: Sedentary work.

Pay

Typical Annualized Hiring Range: $92,100 - $115,100

Schedule

Final pay will be determined with consideration of market competitiveness, internal equity, and the job-related knowledge, skills, training, and experience you bring.
