Dobbs Equipment is seeking an experienced Corporate Account Manager to sell, rent, and lease new and used John Deere equipment and allied products across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina. This role focuses on growing market share by developing partnerships with current and potential clients.
Responsibilities
- Sell and promote the entire product line distributed by Dobbs Equipment.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on John Deere equipment and allied products.
- Grow and develop customer relationships to increase market share and loyalty.
- Prospect and cold call to expand the customer base and market presence.
- Quote and negotiate prices, credit terms, and prepare contracts; record and close orders.
- Provide on-site expertise for demonstrations, machine inspections, and technical support.
- Maintain a contact management database and call log for the designated territory.
- Manage market awareness and provide lost sales reports.
- Deliver status reports to the sales manager on goal achievement.
- Manage and maximize rental conversions.
- Meet or exceed company targets for units, dollars, and gross profit.
- Manage and control sales-related expenses.
- Attend training and sales meetings to stay current with new equipment and promotions.
- Provide feedback to other departments and trade-in information when requested.
70%+ travel is required based on customer locations and manufacturer training.
Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
- Equipment sales experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a four-year college, or a minimum of 3 years of related experience/training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven ability to complete work with energy and enthusiasm.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in Heavy Equipment and Quarry & Aggregate industries is desired.
- Ability to communicate effectively with teammates and customers.
- Strong problem-solving skills and self-management/motivation.
- PC literate, proficient with MS Office (Excel and Outlook).
- Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Basic math skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Quick learner with the ability to think creatively.
- Extensive driving required; overnight travel required.
- Bilingual is a plus.
Work Environment
The role involves occasional exposure to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outdoor weather. The noise level is usually quiet.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand, use hands, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
- Frequently required to walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Occasionally required to sit.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Requires close vision and color vision.
