Corporate Account Manager
Primary Location: Home Based (Texas, Louisiana)
Reports to: Sales Director, SPPC
Compensation Range: $160,000 - $180,000 USD base salary. Actual pay within the range depends on work location, skills, experience, and education. Bonuses, benefits, pension contributions, and other incentives are excluded.
About The Position
The Corporate Account Manager is an experienced individual with strong management skills who handles some of Chemtrade’s most important customers (both direct and distribution). They are responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing sales across all Business Units, with primary responsibilities for SPPC products (sulfuric acid, acid regeneration, SHS, sulfides, sulfur, and other products as needed). This role requires skills for developing and maintaining critical customer relationships, understanding market dynamics, recommending and implementing appropriate actions, and possessing some technical knowledge of product applications.
Requirements
- Degree in Business or related field with a minimum of 10-15 years of experience in chemical sales and marketing
- MBA would be considered a strong asset
- Valid driver’s license is required
- Valid passport
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
- Strong computer skills (SAP, Microsoft Office)
- Proven verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Leadership ability to influence and drive actions while collaborating across various functions to achieve results

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential customers in the territory to understand needs, gain market knowledge, and recommend actions
- Ensure relationships with key accounts are favorable; take appropriate action if a customer is dissatisfied with any aspect of Chemtrade service
- Independently develop and implement specific account-by-account tactical strategies to exceed contribution/margin plans, focusing on volume, selling price, and freight optimization
- Develop, analyze, and negotiate sales agreements at strategic accounts with input from management to meet corporate objectives
- Address customer requests regarding operational problems related directly or indirectly to the use of Chemtrade products
- Identify new or potential opportunities that add value to current business strategies or fit growth/trade-up strategies
- Effectively manage sales processes, including communication with customers (price change notifications, quotations), territory management, planning, budgeting, forecasting, call reports, and expenses
- Communicate business factors affecting market conditions, such as competitive activity/pricing, end-use/industry knowledge, and environmental issues, and integrate them with Chemtrade business strategies
- Proactively coordinate with operations, distribution, customer service, technical, and quality functions to resolve customer issues and implement business strategy
- Coordinate with accounting personnel to keep customer accounts receivable current
- Understand and analyze cost structure, supply chain, and inventory balance to meet customer requirements, structure new deals, and maximize value
- Understand all cost components impacting the cost of doing business with customers
- Optimally utilize resources to remain within assigned budget
- Work and coordinate projects to develop new business or support existing business alongside the Sales/Marketing Department
