About the role
Our Caterpillar Remanufacturing Division currently has an opening for an Assembly II position located in the Corinth, MS facility. This position will include assembly of components with increasing levels of complexity and/or variation. You’ll work in a fast-paced, safety- and quality-focused team environment to perform various assembly processes while promoting sustainability and contributing to a circular economy.
Responsibilities
- Perform assembly processes in a fast-paced, safety- and quality-focused team environment.
- Adhere to contamination control guidelines.
- Read prints and perform quality checks as defined by standard work.
- Use hand tools, power tools, torque tools, gages, hoists, presses, and other tools as necessary.
- Cross-train in other positions up to and including Salary Grade 3 (e.g., Cleaning 1–3, Disassembly 1–2, Assembly 1, Machining 1, Logistics 1–2, Quality 1).
- Follow production schedules and utilize computer systems (MES, BIQ, Pinpoint, Epix) to reference work instructions, prints, and perform data entry.
- Operate overhead cranes/hoists and electric pallet jacks to move parts in and out of the area.
- Adhere to Built-in Safety guidelines.
- Cross-train in other areas of operations to provide flexibility.
- Work in an environment without close supervision.
Requirements
- Basic computer experience (ability to read standard work documents and enter data).
- Ability to read, write, and interpret documents.
- Experience with basic tooling (hand tools, air tools, pneumatic tools, etc.).
- 1 year of manufacturing or assembly experience.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of engines and components.
- Prior use of hoists.
- Print reading experience.
- Basic assembly training, engine/component assembly experience, or engine mechanic experience.
Physical Requirements
- Physically demanding role; must handle high-volume, fast-paced operations.
- Work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures.
- Walk, squat, and bend for intervals of 15–30 minutes.
- Wear proper PPE.
- Lift, push, or pull heavy parts up to 30 lbs. multiple times per shift.
- Stand for up to 10+ hours per shift.
Pay
Starting hourly pay rate of $18.35 (pay negotiations based on skills/experience).
Schedule
- 2nd shift: 2 PM – 10 PM, Monday – Friday.
- 40-hour work weeks with potential for overtime.
- Additional 7% night shift premium.
