Corinth Reman Cylinder Head Reclaim Quality I (2nd shift)

About the Role

Join Caterpillar’s Remanufacturing Division in Corinth, MS as a Quality I inspector. You’ll inspect components following work instructions, blueprints, visual aids, or reusability guidelines. This role supports sustainability by helping restore the value of Cat products and contributing to a circular economy.

Responsibilities

• Work in a fast-paced, safety- and quality-focused environment
• Perform detailed inspections using standard work, blueprints, visual aids, or reusability guidelines
• Interpret blueprints and use systems such as Factory Process, EPIX, MES, or PinPoint
• Understand and apply torque requirements and processes
• Operate hand tools, cordless tools, gauges, vibration tools, and overhead hoists
• Move large components using overhead cranes, reach trucks, sit-down forklifts, electric pallet jacks, or heavy equipment
• Load and unload parts; wear respirator suits for cleaning engines and components
• Perform order filling, processing, storing, picking, and data entry for incoming cores/materials
• Operate automated packaging equipment
• Cross-train in other positions up to Salary Grade 2 (e.g., Cleaning, Disassembly, Assembly, Machining, Logistics)
• Use email and other computer systems regularly; work with minimal supervision

Requirements

• Basic computer skills (read documents, enter data)
• Ability to read, write, and interpret documents
• Flexible schedule; must stand for up to 10+ hours per shift
• Ability to walk, squat, and bend for intervals of 15–30 minutes
• May lift, push, or pull parts up to 30 lbs. multiple times per shift
• Must wear proper PPE and work in environments with frequently changing temperatures

Qualifications

• Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
• Prior use of hoists and knowledge of engines/components
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Previous forklift, inspection, or blueprint interpretation experience
• Experience with hand tools, air tools, or pneumatic tools

Job Bid Eligibility

This position is open only to current Mississippi Reman full-time employees who meet the following criteria:

• Minimum “Meets Expectations” on current performance document
• No active disciplinary action on file
• Successful completion of OJT in current position
• Employed with current division for at least 12 months if seeking a position with a different division (applies to Mississippi Reman & Mississippi PSLD divisions only)
• Completed division lock-in period requirement for currently held position

Schedule

2nd shift: 2 PM – 10 PM

Pay

Pay range: $19.75 – $25.65 per hour. Compensation varies based on job level, market location, knowledge, skills, experience, and individual performance.
