About the role

The position involves leading the enterprise Core Payments organization responsible for ACH and Wire platforms at Truist. This role combines operational leadership of critical payment infrastructure with the responsibility for modernizing legacy payment capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a team of professionals and contractors to ensure the stability, performance, resiliency, and risk management of critical payment platforms.
  • Lead a complex, multi-year transformation of ACH and Wire architecture.
  • Drive organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, talent development, succession planning, and knowledge transfer strategies.
  • Balance day-to-day execution with strategic modernization initiatives.
  • Work closely with senior technology, operations, risk, and business stakeholders.
  • Ensure operational excellence while building the architecture, talent strategy, and operating model for tomorrow's payment ecosystem.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in ACH and Wire payments platforms and operations.
  • Proven success leading large-scale payments organizations and mission-critical infrastructure.
  • Strong track record balancing operational stability with strategic transformation.
  • Executive-level communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated success developing high-performing teams and leading workforce transitions.
  • Experience modernizing legacy payment platforms (PEP+, MTS, or comparable environments preferred).
  • Background across retail and commercial payments ecosystems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 12 years of professional experience in software development and executive technology leadership.
  • Broad management and leadership experience leading large, global software engineering organizations.
  • Expertise in technology strategy, enterprise architecture, and business transformation.

Pay

The annual base salary for this position is $173,390 - 346,760.
