Corals Communications Director
Responsibilities
- Develop content for NOAA websites, newsletters, press releases, email announcements, and handouts.
- Lead managing three social media accounts (X, Facebook, Instagram) for NOAA’s Coral Reef Conservation Program.
- Collaborate across NOAA offices to gather program successes and create stories, reports, story maps, and additional products.
- Develop ideas for national web stories and press releases for the purpose of increasing public awareness and knowledge.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to generate messaging, stories, and products on coral conservation across multiple geographic scales.
- Develop and deliver presentations, photography, website content maintenance, graphic design.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related field plus an additional 7+ years of documented, relevant professional experience required or Master's degree plus 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Excellent writing, editing, communication, graphic design, and collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, shift priorities as needed, and work productively in a fast-paced, team environment.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Knowledge of NOAA programs and operations, coral reefs, or coastal management topic area expertise preferred.
- Experience with Google collaborative tools, MS Word, and PowerPoint, as well as familiarity with website development, social media apps, and web and social media analytics.
- Experience with ESRI GIS software and apps a plus.
Qualifications
- Pass a National Agency Check (NACI), including fingerprinting, and maintain it throughout the duration of employment.
