This position is part of Evident Inspection Technologies division, which delivers solutions to complex challenges by inspecting mission-critical assets and infrastructure. The division leverages nondestructive testing, remote visual inspection, and analytical instruments to support maintenance, manufacturing, and environmental applications.
About the role
The Technical Sales Representative for NDT products is responsible for developing and executing a sales strategy for a defined territory, implementing the sales plan, promoting and demonstrating the company's products and services with the goal of attaining a sales target. This role requires deep technical knowledge of all products within the assigned product line, as well as the ability to effectively demonstrate them to customers. The position involves managing the technical selling cycle and traveling approximately 60% of the time for customer meetings, product demonstrations, and sales activities.
This is a remote-based position covering the Maryland, Virginia, and Delaware territory.
Responsibilities
- Meet sales targets for the territory on all products.
- Visit customers daily in the assigned territory to demonstrate products and discuss sales opportunities.
- Follow up on all leads provided by Evident.
- Prospect and cold call to identify new business opportunities.
- Complete timely quotations for customers, collaborating with sales engineers and support staff.
- Work closely with Evident teams to coordinate overall selling efforts.
- Develop and refine a Sales Plan that includes strategies for increasing sales to active and prospective customers, ensuring full territory coverage, and improving product presentation skills and knowledge.
- Respond to customer phone calls and emails in a timely manner.
- Use the Evident CRM package for daily tasks and management reporting.
- Complete periodic sales reports, calendar events, and opportunity management in a timely manner.
- Coordinate sales to key accounts within the territory alongside key account managers.
- Participate in and present at local professional organizations.
- Operate within the Evident Code of Ethics policy.
- Learn and implement the Miller Heiman strategic selling methodology.
- Attend sales meetings.
- Frequently lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in NDT or related technical field, business discipline, or equivalent technical experience.
- Minimum of 1+ year of experience in high-end capital equipment sales or similar selling skills and training.
- Strong computer skills (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to learn the scientific principles and technology of the equipment.

Pay
The total expected compensation range is $120,000 to $210,000, which includes base salary and uncapped commission incentives. The actual salary offered may be influenced by factors such as training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands, and work location.
