As a garage door technician at Precision Garage Door Service, you'll receive training to quickly get up and running with your own company vehicle and a steady stream of customers. Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair: Repair garage doors, operators, replace worn or broken parts, install new equipment (including doors), and replace springs.
- Educate customers: Explain repair options in detail, help customers understand how to prevent future issues, and review completed work so they fully grasp what was done.
- Sell services and equipment: Use our proven model (trained by us) to present good/better/best service options to customers and collect payments.
- Manage vehicle inventory: Ensure you have the right equipment, tools, and products to sell and complete repairs correctly.
- Maximize efficiency: Manage your time effectively to assist as many customers as possible, ensuring their needs are fully met while controlling your income.
- Deliver quality work: Ensure the job is done right the first time and leave customers satisfied with glowing feedback.
- Prioritize safety: Drive and work safely at all times.
Requirements
- Mechanical aptitude and technical skills.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds independently.
- Ability to bend, climb, kneel, and stand for long periods.
- Comfort working in heat, cold, and uncontrolled environments (e.g., garages without temperature control).
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with customers and solve problems.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliability and adherence to our customer service process.
- Basic computer/tablet skills (no fear of technology).
- Ability to use hand tools and operate mechanical equipment.
Garage door industry experience is preferred but not required—we provide full training.
Pay
During your 90-day training period, you'll receive a base hourly wage. After training, you'll earn commissions on completed work. Most technicians earn between $60,000 and $100,000 annually.
