Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair garage doors, door operators, replace worn or broken door parts, install new equipment including doors, and replace springs.
- Educate the customer: Explain in detail and help the customer understand their options for fixing the problem and preventing future issues. Once the job is done, review and explain the work to customers so they fully understand what was completed.
- Sell services, repairs, and new equipment: Using our proven model, which we’ll train you on, sell services to the customer using a good/better/best model. Also, collect payment from the customer.
- Manage inventory in your vehicle: Ensure you have the right equipment, tools, and products to sell the job and repair the equipment correctly.

Requirements
- Mechanical aptitude and technical skills.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds independently.
- Ability to bend, climb, kneel, and stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to work in heat and cold, both outdoors and inside garages that may not have temperature control.
- Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with customers and resolve problems.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliability and ability to serve our customers by following our process.
- Preferred but not required: Experience in the garage door industry—we will train you.
- Ability to use a computer and/or tablet. No fear of technology.
- Ability to use hand tools and operate mechanical equipment.
Pay and Benefits
We offer competitive pay that matches or exceeds any trade. During your 90-day training period, you’ll receive a base pay of $XX.XX per hour. After training, you’ll earn commissions on the work you complete. Most technicians earn between $60,000 and $100,000 per year.
