Job Profile Summary

The objective of the coordinator is to assist veterans or the dependents of veterans with the application and certification process, and to develop and maintain outreach programs for veterans and dependents within the community. This holistic approach addresses the needs of veterans (or dependents of veterans) completely. The Veterans Coordinator acts as a liaison with the Regional Processing Office.

This position allows eligible veterans and their spouses to claim Veterans’ Preference pursuant to Florida Statute 295. Certain service members may be eligible to receive waivers for postsecondary educational requirements, and are encouraged to apply for the positions being filled. Applicants claiming preference are responsible for providing required documentation at the time of submitting the application.

Minimum Education

A Bachelor's Degree is required. An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.

Minimum Experience/Training

Four years of relevant experience are required, within the field or closely related field. Extensive knowledge concerning Veteran's Affairs and processing of their Educational Benefits is essential.

Salary Range

Salary Range: $42,320 - $49,726
Salary commensurate with education and experience.
