Coordinator, Transportation Safety & Compliance

Primary Responsibilities
- Administration of internal DOT compliance, safety program, auto liability and workers compensation claims for over 800 drivers and 15 locations.
- Oversee FMCSA regulations on Hours of Service Compliance, Record Review and Fleet and Systems Audits.
- Work effectively with all 3rd Party services utilized for safety and compliance programs.
- Maintain as needed, Transportation Safety and Compliance standard operating procedures and handbooks for professional truck drivers.
- Ensure the proper assignment and documentation of remedial training as dictated by Company policy or as assigned.
- Assist as required with auditing and review of compliance documents, processes, procedures and programs to ensure compliance.
- Contribute to Company process, policy, and program development and standardization as assigned.
- Utilize Company commercial transportation programs as needed to support the Fleet.
- Prepare recurring reports and scorecards with a collaboration of data points from Fleet safety systems.
- Effectively execute processes and policies centered on KeHE’s auto liability and workers compensation claims.
- This includes, but is not limited to, accident file management, updating safety systems, ensuring compliance with company policies and communication with insurance providers.
- Prepare Fleet reports on training completion and status.
- To include tracking of training needs for both online and classroom-based training.
- Communicate effectively with and work in conjunction with Transportation Safety Manager in person, via telephone, and through use of email correspondence and Teams virtual platform.
Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to convey messages clearly across diverse settings.
- Highly detail-oriented with strong planning skills; accurately scopes tasks, sets goals, and measures results.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Tech-savvy with the functional knowledge to perform at a high level.

Education and Experience
- Minimum two years’ experience in Transportation Safety and Compliance.
- Minimum of two years of college education preferred.
- A career track record that shows upward progression through organizational levels and involvement in transportation industry outside of organization (example: State Associations, National Private Truck Council, American Trucking Association, etc.) is beneficial.
