Coordinator Radiology Clerical
About the Role
As a Coordinator in Radiology at HCA Florida North Florida Hospital, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients in the Radiology reception area. You will manage patient intake, monitor wait times, act as a patient liaison, communicate with testing departments, prepare imaging CDs, handle reports, assist with scheduling, and manage patient files. This role also involves handling incoming calls related to Radiology services and supporting the Radiology Director with various tasks.
Responsibilities
- Answer all incoming calls by the third ring and handle inquiries or redirect calls as needed.
- Greet and direct patients and visitors, accurately identifying patients using two patient identifiers.
- Obtain necessary paperwork prior to testing or placing orders for imaging exams.
- Maintain and accurately record patient data manually and electronically in information systems.
- Retrieve imaging and lab results for comparison or scheduling procedures.
- Notify technologists of pending "STAT" exams promptly.
- Contact physicians and technologists internally and externally as needed.
- Monitor the waiting room to minimize long wait times.
- Assist patients with changing into gowns prior to procedures.
- Schedule outpatient exams according to department protocols.
- Provide appropriate paperwork/schedules for patients with pre- and post-recovery needs.
- Process legal requests for imaging in Radiology.
- Work with medical records to provide documentation for coding.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of PACS, EMR, and information systems (e.g., retrieving patient records, entering orders, accessing reports, burning imaging CDs).
- Order office supplies and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or GED.
- 1 year of relevant experience.
