About the role
The Physician Practice Coordinator is an entry-level managerial role to physician practices, with a primary responsibility of assisting the Practice Manager in the day-to-day operations of the physician practice to maximize patient access and provider efficiency for their assigned practice locations.
Responsibilities
- Assist as the liaison between management and clerical and clinical staff in the physician office.
- Maintain a stable work environment for all staff and handle duties as outlined.
- Oversight of daily operations of office and staffing.
- Participate in the establishment and maintenance of the operating budget.
- Resolution of patient complaints.
- Coordination of office meetings.
- Participation in the annual staff performance appraisals.
- Training and coaching of staff.
- Aid in the orientation/training of new staff.
- Assist in building and maintaining a cohesive and positive work environment.
- Assist with patient care as designated by the provider(s).
- Assist with EPIC processes to train and maintain efficient medical practice operations.
- Represent and be a role model for other employees in attendance, handling and having difficult conversations, leadership, and handling multiple priorities at any given time.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- 1-3 years of previous supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience in a Medical Office Setting is strongly preferred.
- Licensed Practical Nurse or Certified Medical Assistant is preferred.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of basic patient care and ability to properly and safely handle medical equipment and supplies used.
- Must be able to perform and/or have knowledge of basic clerical skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office is strongly preferred.
- Exceptional communication, both verbal and written, and excellent customer service skills are necessary for interaction with patients, visitors and staff.
- Professional appearance is required.
- Must be able to function independently, as well as a team member.
- Candidate must be flexible, dependable and maintain a professional image.
- Must be tactful, maintain confidentiality and handle stressful situations in a professional manner.
Pay
$22.71 - $34.06 per hour
