General Description
Coordinates curriculum development and implementation for assigned specialized fields and educational levels throughout the division; assists the schools in the development and implementation of curriculum programs. Coordinates CTE activities, communication, and reports with state and federal Career and Technical Offices regarding the Carl D. Perkins Act regulations.
Essential Job Functions
- Assists in planning and developing programs to meet identified needs.
- Provides leadership in curriculum development and implementation.
- Conducts annual local assessment of career and technical education in accordance with state and federal law.
- Assists in staff evaluation.
- Assists in division recruitment, interviewing and selection of staff.
- Assists in the development, and implementation of the CTE Perkins Application.
- Provides leadership for the development and maintenance of programmatic expenditure budgets.
- Provides leadership and coordination of CTE Specialist programmatic activities.
- Leads CTE department chair meetings and professional development training.
- Provides leadership support in the area of career and technical student organizations.
- Provides leadership support for curriculum, program of study alignment, and course offerings.
- Assists with the operation, management, and functions of the Career and Technical Education Advisory Board.
Budgetary Responsibility
- Assists in the development of local operating and instructional budget.
- Assists in the development of Local Plan/Budget for Career and Technical Education funding (Perkins).
- Provides oversight of expenditures meeting local, state, and federal requirements.
Report Preparation
- Aids in the development of the CCPS Perkins Application, Local Improvement Plan, Federal Monitoring Assessment and prepares other reports at the request of the supervisor.
Equipment Operation
- Uses computer, fax and copier.

Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of the concepts, principles, and methodologies of areas of specialization.
- Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to career and technical education.
- Knowledge of learning theories.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to train and advise staff.
- Ability to gather data, prepare and present reports accurately and on time.
- Demonstrated skills in decision making, problem analysis, conflict resolution, interpersonal relationships, program management, and research and planning.
- Ability to plan, organize and perform work independently and as a member of a team.
Additional Job Requirements
- Must hold either a valid Postgraduate Professional teaching license or a Pupil Personnel Services license, with an endorsement in Administration and Supervision, along with prior teaching and/or school counseling experience and experience working with Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs.
