About the Role
This position provides OSU Agriculture with the coordination and management of the division’s payroll and human resource related operations. The OSU Ag HR office serves and supports approximately 1,000+ employees located both on and off campus across the division’s central administration, departments, units, centers, Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Services (OCES), and research stations. This role is part of a highly cooperative team contributing to the efficient operation of OSU Agriculture, known for local, state, and global impacts. The division’s business and administrative operations include human resources, sponsored programs, and financial services working closely to serve employees with dynamic and resourceful core teams.
Responsibilities
- Fully coordinate and manage monthly and bi-weekly payroll submissions division-wide, including training, facilitating, coordinating, advising, and final submission.
- Advise departments on payroll and human resource-related questions, interpret policy guidance, and confirm best practices are followed.
- Serve as the division coordinator with OSU Payroll to oversee all Ag departmental payroll items and projects, resolve system deficiencies, and review processes for improvements.
- Manage all payroll transactions, forms, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with OSU policies, guidelines, federal, and state laws.
- Handle recruitment and onboarding needs tied to payroll, leave, and salary.
- Ensure data integrity and provide guidance as appropriate.
- Process and facilitate new hires, changes, various payment needs, and provide payroll guidance.
- Provide consultation and advice on payroll and HR-related issues, including employment actions, leave scenarios, DOL, and FLSA rules.
- Deliver excellent customer service to internal and external customers and employees at all levels.
- Create, prepare, and present training programs and materials.
- Analyze complex information to define and solve problems.
- Maintain composure under stressful situations and respond to emotional employee situations professionally.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED (degree must be conferred on or before the agreed-upon start date).
- Six years of professional experience (post-secondary education may substitute for experience).
- Ability to interpret OSU, OSU Ag, and OSU Extension policies and procedures.
- Work independently and with a team, following through on assignments with minimal supervision.
- Maintain a professional work environment under deadlines.
- Proficiency in various program applications and Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to protect confidential information and communicate with discretion.
- Excellent interpersonal, public relations, oral, and written communication skills.
- Commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior OSU work experience involving customer service, demonstrating a positive attitude, willingness to help, and critical thinking to solve issues quickly.
- Working knowledge of the OSU Banner HRS System.

Pay
$47,000 – $64,000 annually
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with occasional evenings and weekends.
