Florida A&M University's School of Business and Industry, Small Business Development Center is seeking a Coordinator, Management Analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized one-on-one consulting and educational support to entrepreneurs and small business owners, with a primary focus on capital readiness, access to capital, and advanced financial strategies.
  • Guide clients through the preparation required to secure funding and investment—from traditional loans to equity financing—through financial analysis, strategic business planning, and customized technical assistance.
  • Conduct outreach and build strategic alliances with local and regional economic development stakeholders, including banks, Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs), Chambers of Commerce, and other resource partners.
  • Work both independently and collaboratively within a team, with a flexible schedule to accommodate evening events and meetings.
  • Travel up to 75% across the service area; valid driver’s license required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of related experience; or a master’s degree in an appropriate specialization.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial analysis, loan packaging, credit assessment, or capital advisory services.
  • Excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and public speaking abilities, with a capacity to build trust across diverse business and community sectors.
  • Proficiency in business management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and CRM systems.

Conditions of Employment

  • Only U.S. citizens or aliens with legal right to work in the U.S. are eligible; proof of identity and employment eligibility required within three days of employment.

  • This is a time-limited position funded by a contract or grant with a defined expiration date.
