Coordinator, Intake RN to BSN (Part-Time)

Under limited supervision, serve as an educational liaison, enrollment coordinator, and advisor for students entering the baccalaureate degree in nursing program (BSN program). This role acts as the primary contact for students and the primary recruiter promoting the program to potential students.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the intake coordinator and primary enrollment coordinator and advisor for all students in the RN to BSN program.
  • Assist in the completion of applications for upper division options, admission test information and registration, and provide general information regarding scholarships, grants, financial aid, and the completion of applications for admission, internship, and graduation.
  • Register each student into CID (College Information Database).
  • Actively promote the program to potential students both within the Broward College system and externally.
  • Make presentations to various groups on campus and within the community regarding the program; plan and coordinate large group functions for students related to the BS degree in nursing.
  • Facilitate enrollment of community partners' employees and assist hospital recruiters with scholarship opportunities for eligible candidates.
  • Develop and maintain a database record of all interactions and interventions with students.
  • Maintain specific knowledge about the RN to BSN program and interpret basic program requirements to students.
  • Maintain resource files of required nursing licenses, certification tests, and exams as required by the state.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with the College student affairs officers.
  • Participate in the development of systems to track student data during the program and beyond, including input into long-range plans.
  • Periodically meet with students to assess progress in accordance with their educational plan and coordinate tutoring and workshops based on student needs.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences or related field required. An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
  • Six years of responsible experience in the academic/administrative aspects of student affairs or academic counseling, with an emphasis on higher education.

Pay

$26.05 - $32.56 per hour (commensurate with education and experience).

Schedule

Part-time. Work schedule varies, including Monday - Friday and weekends.

This position allows eligible veterans and their spouses to claim Veterans’ Preference pursuant to Florida Statute 295. Certain servicemembers may be eligible to receive waivers for postsecondary educational requirements in employment by the state and its political subdivisions.
