Responsibilities

• Guide and develop coders to promote accuracy and compliance
• Mentor, coach, and educate coders
• Ensure accurate capture of patients' clinical stories

Requirements

Associate's Degree in Medical Record Sciences with certification as Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Administrator (RHIA), or CCS.

• Minimum 5 years of inpatient coding experience
• Strong understanding of:
  • Anatomy and physiology
  • Pathophysiology and disease processes
  • Medical terminology
  • Pharmacology
  • ICD-10 coding systems
• Level I Trauma Center coding experience preferred
