Responsibilities
- Guide and develop coders to promote accuracy and compliance
- Mentor, coach, and educate coders
- Ensure accurate capture of patients' clinical stories
Requirements
Associate's Degree in Medical Record Sciences with certification as Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Administrator (RHIA), or CCS.
- Minimum 5 years of inpatient coding experience
- Strong understanding of:
- Anatomy and physiology
- Pathophysiology and disease processes
- Medical terminology
- Pharmacology
- ICD-10 coding systems
- Level I Trauma Center coding experience preferred
