PURPOSE AND SCOPE

The Coordinator III, Workforce Education oversees and facilitates day-to-day and some long-term operations within the EMI building and its industrial equipment, playing a strong role in leading and planning, development, evaluation, and continuous improvement processes. Assigned area and responsibilities will be extensive and/or highly specialized to the industrial classes offered at the EMI building. May be responsible for the success of the assigned area, ensuring smooth and efficient operations as well as compliance with policies, procedures, and a variety of local, state, and federal regulations.

Essential Job Functions

  • Oversees the acquisition, tracking, and maintenance of industrial workforce training equipment, tools, and consumables to ensure uninterrupted student access.
  • Develops and implements a scheduled maintenance plan for workforce training equipment to minimize downtime and maximize instructional effectiveness.
  • Establishes and maintains strong partnerships with vendors and industry partners for purchasing, servicing, and upgrading workforce training equipment and industrial supplies.
  • Serves as a key liaison for equipment and lab management in support of the TAMU Engineering B+ program, ensuring that instructional spaces are fully operational for hands-on training.
  • Works closely with faculty and staff to assess instructional needs and ensure that lab spaces are fully equipped for scheduled training activities.
  • Manages ordering, delivery, and inventory of industrial training materials, ensuring timely access to critical resources despite supply chain challenges.
  • Ensures that all training equipment and lab environments comply with OSHA, NCCER, and other industry standards to maintain a safe learning environment.
  • Captures and analyzes equipment utilization, maintenance logs, and program impact data to inform decision-making and program improvements.
  • Collaborates with Continuing Education (CE) and other LSC-UP divisions to maximize facility and equipment usage, optimizing resource allocation for training programs.
  • Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Strong attention to accuracy and detail in warehousing, inventory, preventive maintenance of training equipment, and familiarity with industrial training equipment.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office suites as well as facilities request, maintenance logs, safety practices, and industrial housekeeping.
  • Absolutely possess excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong multi-tasking abilities with the ability to prioritize duties.
  • Possesses excellent customer service, vendor management, inventory management, reporting, and basic troubleshooting of equipment.

Physical Abilities

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

Work Schedule & Conditions

  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone, and other general office equipment.
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industrial AAS degree.
  • Experience in an industrial environment.

Salary

Hiring salary range is $48,152 - $55,375.
