Position Key Accountabilities
- Plans, coordinates and manages the operations of the education office, which may include staff and equipment.
- Provides administrative and/or technical support in the development and evaluation of educational components, including but not limited to websites and grading systems.
- Aids course directors in the development of course syllabi and exams.
- Aids in the production of finished products, setting up and proctoring exams.
- Evaluates, modifies and updates testing procedures.
- Prepares, maintains, and monitors budget for Educational Programs Office, managing funds for equipment, training, office supplies, etc.
- Serves as liaison between faculty and administrative departments within the University to provide a smooth flow of information. Also liaison between faculty and students regarding grades and non-urgent issues.
- Identifies and alerts course directors and Chairman of possible course related issues to be resolved by faculty and/or department administration.
- Manages administrative needs of student teaching assistants including personnel issues, payroll and coordination of duties.
- Aids faculty in the development of educational materials using PowerPoint and other software as well as training faculty on the use of the programs on a laptop.
- Manages Human Resources activities of department in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, and salary planning.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field required.
- Master's Degree preferred.
Minimum Experience
- 5 years related experience in an educational setting with one year in a lead or supervisory role required.
- Experience in classroom teaching preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.

- This position is a security-sensitive position pursuant to Texas Education Code51.215 and Texas Government Code411.094.
Residency Requirement
- Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
