Position Key Accountabilities

  • Plans, coordinates and manages the operations of the education office, which may include staff and equipment.
  • Provides administrative and/or technical support in the development and evaluation of educational components, including but not limited to websites and grading systems.
  • Aids course directors in the development of course syllabi and exams.
  • Aids in the production of finished products, setting up and proctoring exams.
  • Evaluates, modifies and updates testing procedures.
  • Prepares, maintains, and monitors budget for Educational Programs Office, managing funds for equipment, training, office supplies, etc.
  • Serves as liaison between faculty and administrative departments within the University to provide a smooth flow of information. Also liaison between faculty and students regarding grades and non-urgent issues.
  • Identifies and alerts course directors and Chairman of possible course related issues to be resolved by faculty and/or department administration.
  • Manages administrative needs of student teaching assistants including personnel issues, payroll and coordination of duties.
  • Aids faculty in the development of educational materials using PowerPoint and other software as well as training faculty on the use of the programs on a laptop.
  • Manages Human Resources activities of department in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, and salary planning.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field required.
  • Master's Degree preferred.

Minimum Experience

  • 5 years related experience in an educational setting with one year in a lead or supervisory role required.
  • Experience in classroom teaching preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.

  • This position is a security-sensitive position pursuant to Texas Education Code51.215 and Texas Government Code411.094.

Residency Requirement

  • Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
