Job Summary

The Coordinator I, Asset Protection Officer will assist with controlling loss and shrink by performing Asset Protection related activities and monitoring policies and programs. They will deter, detect, and apprehend individuals committing thefts or other crimes at store level, providing a safe and secure store environment for customers, employees, and vendors.

Essential Functions

  • Establishes positive partnerships with store personnel to support enthusiastic customer awareness, emphasizing fast, friendly, and excellent customer service.
  • Maintains the checkout area for consumer fraud, associate dishonesty, and compliance with cash handling and cash register policies and procedures.
  • Oversees the store to check shrink control, external loss, and customer service.
  • Apprehends shoplifters following Goodwill policies and state and local laws, cooperating with law enforcement as directed.
  • Aids in Asset Protection related inspections, submits work orders for physical security equipment, conducts inspections to ensure policy compliance, documents violations, and communicates with Store and Risk Management teams.
  • Conducts investigations at the direction of the Risk Director, prepares and maintains proper documentation, and reports incidents of unsafe store conditions to Store and Risk Management teams.
  • Takes immediate action to report and remedy any imminent safety hazards.
  • Represents Goodwill stores positively to customers and the public.

Qualifications

  • A High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of Retail Asset Protection experience.
  • Knowledge of Company Asset Protection and interviewing policies and procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of law enforcement.

  • Ability to understand and follow instructions, deal with potentially demanding situations effectively and assertively.

  • Ability to understand and accept instructions and communicate with co-workers and the public.
  • Ability to use CCTV equipment.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain property documentation for all interviews and investigations (case building).
  • Ability to identify situations requiring immediate attention or intervention and react according to Goodwill policies and procedures.
  • Mental alertness, basic mathematics skills, weights and measures.
  • Basic computer knowledge to include Microsoft Office and its components.
  • Follows all Goodwill Company policies, including Safety, Asset Protection, Attendance, Grooming Standards, and Dress Codes.

Pay

$21/hour

Schedule

Full-time - will need to be flexible to work retail hours (Monday-Sunday 9 AM-9 PM), weekends, and varying 8 hour shifts.
