About the role

A 12-month, full-time, live-in staff member responsible for the overall management of assigned residential areas. This includes supervision of Resident Assistants, supporting Living Learning communities, serving as a member of the community standards team for low to mid-level cases, and serving on departmental committees. The role focuses on creating a climate that supports student success, personal development, and high levels of resident engagement.

HACs also support summer assignments related to conferences and events, summer session housing, and new student orientation. Due to the nature of the position, work often extends outside of traditional business hours, including weekends, evenings, early mornings, and participation in an on-call duty rotation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned residential areas, including supervision of Resident Assistants.
  • Support Living Learning Communities and serve on the community standards team for low to mid-level cases.
  • Serve on departmental committees and create a climate that supports student success and personal development.
  • Coordinate student programming and leadership opportunities.
  • Manage Living Learning Communities and ensure confidentiality of student records in accordance with federal, state, and college regulations.
  • Support summer assignments, including conferences, events, summer session housing, and new student orientation.
  • Participate in an on-call duty rotation and work outside traditional business hours, including weekends and evenings.
  • Approach projects collaboratively to support the holistic development of students—academically, psychologically, and physically.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate area of specialization with two years of relevant experience.
  • Master’s degree and experience in residence life/student services are strongly preferred.
