About the Role

The Coordinator, Fundraising Campaigns & Volunteer Engagement is a priority fundraising position that works in partnership with the Chapter's staff, leadership volunteers, and committees to drive growth and success in fundraising campaigns. This individual will drive peer fundraising and identify, recruit, train, and partner with leadership volunteers to harness their passion and skills, maximizing their engagement to drive revenue and advance the mission of the Foundation. The coordinator travels throughout the Chicagoland, Milwaukee, and Madison areas to meet with constituents and serves as a key contact for the Foundation with volunteers and supporters.

This is a part-time role working 29 hours per week, hybrid with two days a week in the Chapter Office and the remaining days remote. This role does not offer benefits.

Responsibilities

Fundraising

  • Acquire and activate participants by developing impactful relationships within the patient and corporate community, empowering them to tell their stories and generate revenue through direct peer-to-peer fundraising.
  • Meet with donors, participants, sponsors, and prospects as a priority.
  • Use knowledge of Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis to connect with patients in a meaningful way.
  • Communicate shared vision by utilizing national campaign and marketing materials, adjusting as appropriate.
  • Assist in creating an annual operational plan including marketing, budgeting, and project management to ensure success of the Take Steps campaign and special events.
  • Ensure revenue goals are achieved by developing, implementing, and assessing year-round strategic fundraising plans for all Take Steps walks and special events, including proactive team engagement, acquisition, day-of experience, sponsorship, and data-revenue tracking and assessment.
  • Make timely adjustments to fundraising strategies as needed.
  • Prioritize relationship development and deliver excellent customer service to all donors, participants, corporate partners, and teams by understanding their interests, responding promptly to requests, and providing consistent year-round communication.
  • Assist in managing and executing logistics to provide an inspirational day-of event experience for corporate partners, patients, and supporters.
  • Build a strong partnership with national managers and collaborate with local and national staff to work collectively toward strategic team goals.
  • Maintain accurate and complete database records and files for fundraising events, programs, and activities.

Data Entry & Finance

  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate records via the internal database.

Communications

  • Assist in creating e-newsletters and email communications for Foundation constituents using internal tools and following best practices.
  • Assist with the preparation of collateral materials related to fundraising programs and mission activities.

Office Management

  • Ensure the proper use, management, security, and upkeep of facilities, equipment, and documents by managing office facilities and coordinating with vendors for daily operations and timely payment of invoices.
  • Monitor and answer all Chapter inquiries via phone and email.
  • Greet visitors, handle deliveries, and serve as the front face of the local office.
  • Actively seek opportunities to address community needs and positively impact the local region.

Volunteer Engagement

  • Build a compelling vision for growth and collaborate with volunteer leaders and staff to achieve it.
  • Work with leadership volunteers to identify, recruit, and engage volunteers who have the potential to make an impact.
  • Build strong and effective partnerships with volunteers and supporters and help foster a culture of accountability.
  • Partner with and support volunteer committees to drive success in campaigns and grow support for the mission.
  • Serve as a key leader in the market area by building relationships, raising awareness, and sharing mission impact with constituents.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Prior administrative or non-profit work experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record of success managing multiple projects, providing excellence in customer service, building community through marketing, outreach, or communications, and working with donors/volunteers.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented professional with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience working with budgets and finance is a plus.
  • Effective written and verbal communicator.
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Word, Excel, and database management.
  • Available to work occasional evenings and weekends.
