About the role
The Coordinator for Sorority & Fraternity Life serves under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Sorority & Fraternity Life. Key responsibilities include advising chapter and council leadership, delivering educational content, and managing risk.
Responsibilities
- Develops and executes comprehensive leadership, educational, and risk management programs for sorority and fraternity members.
- Serves as the primary advisor for multiple governing councils.
- Advises sorority/fraternity members on personal and organizational accountability, self-governance, shared standards, and relevant topics.
- Hires, trains, supervises, and supports undergraduate students in their personal and professional development.
- Assists with the implementation and operation of the Expectations of Excellence program and other initiatives.
- Keeps up-to-date with national and international sorority and fraternity policies and practices, and assists with institutional-level policy development, interpretation, and enforcement.
- Supervises events and programs, including nights and weekends.
- Participates in staff on-call rotation.
- Supports and participates in initiatives promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Identifies, recommends, and implements improvements related to policies, procedures, finance, and operations.
- Collects and analyzes program evaluation/assessment data and proposes service improvement recommendations.
- Serves on University/Department committees and attends staff meetings as required.
- Manages assigned special projects, programs, or services.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- One (1) year of post-graduate experience planning and conducting student leadership development/educational programs, workshops, or trainings.
- Experience advising or supervising college students.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate information effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and programming skills.
- Proven ability to effectively manage multiple concurrent priorities within established time frames.
- Knowledge and familiarity with harm reduction and risk management practices.
- Established skills in typical office suite software, such as Microsoft Office applications.
- Articulate commitment to, demonstrated understanding of, and/or experience working with diverse populations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Master’s Degree in a related field including but not limited to student affairs, or student counseling.
- Membership in an inter/national Greek lettered organization.
- Demonstrated knowledge of budgeting and fiscal management.
