About the role

The University of Mount Saint Vincent seeks a Coordinator to support the Senior Director for Alumnae/i Relations and Giving. Reporting to the Senior Director, the Coordinator will help develop and implement strategies to engage alumnae/i and friends in support of the University’s fundraising and strategic goals. The role involves planning and executing special events and ongoing programs, creating communication materials, recruiting and cultivating volunteers, supervising student employees, and maintaining data to track progress toward goals. This full-time, exempt position is onsite Monday–Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Senior Director and Assistant Director to develop integrated annual fund strategies and goals based on past campaign analysis and constituency groups to increase participation and gifts from alumnae/i and friends.
  • Work with the Alumnae/i Relations and Giving team to set a communication plan and schedule for annual giving initiatives, ensuring appeals are developed and deployed on time and in alignment with University editorial and brand guidelines.
  • Draft and develop annual giving appeals and written materials for solicitation, and maintain appeal, gift, and campaign details in Raisers’ Edge, including donor information, proper documentation, and tracking of annual fund operations; prepare reports on giving, progress toward goals, and pledge information.
  • Maintain the schedule of annual giving reports for monitoring progress and completing donor recognition.
  • Implement, promote, and support alumnae/i events and programs—on campus, locally, and virtually—including centerpiece programs such as Reunion and Homecoming Weekend, and affinity group events; serve as lead at various alumnae/i events both on-campus and in the tri-state area.
  • Assist in scheduling, planning, and executing a multi-year regional travel and event schedule.
  • Coordinate University Athletic fundraising initiatives in collaboration with the Department of Athletics, providing leadership, logistical, and operational support to facilitate gift acknowledgment and record keeping.
  • Support the President’s Associates Council, a peer-to-peer fundraising initiative focused on cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding annual gifts of $1,000 or more; plan, promote, and implement all phases of events (invitations, catering, scripts/programs, etc.).
  • Oversee the student employment program, including hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating Office Assistants and the “Dolphin Dialer” phone team (approximately 8–14 students); plan comprehensive training sessions to prepare students as ambassadors and to support telephone fundraising.
  • Participate in identifying, recruiting, training, and stewarding alumnae/i class ambassadors and volunteers to engage graduates and cultivate support for the University’s goals.
  • Serve as backup gift processor in the Office of Advancement, completing gift batches, financial deposits, and acknowledgment production as needed.
  • Support the work of the Alumnae/i Association, its executive board, standing committees, and chapters.
  • Participate in University-wide and Advancement events, especially those related to fundraising.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience developing engaging programming; drafting communications and appeals; supervising student workers; and recruiting and motivating volunteers.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, analytical skills, attention to detail, and follow-up skills.
  • Experience with Raisers Edge development software is desirable.
  • Some evening and weekend work and business travel required.
  • Understanding and admiration of the University’s mission; creativity, discretion, good judgment, and motivation to stay current with best practices in annual giving, fundraising, direct marketing, and volunteer management.
  • Interest in a flexible, collegial environment that emphasizes accountability for meeting goals.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; prior experience in higher education fundraising preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Pay

The annual salary for this position is $66,300.
